Glad they’ve arrived safely after their long complicated journey. So pleased that you like them. I made the hedgehog first: it being a sort of autumnal animal . I then decided he needed a friend - so you can use them if you have a friend for an autumn cuppa. :D :drink: :drink:

@Sheilago glad mine arrived safely  :)

Aha, I guessed it was probably you @Lowena, :ninja: but wasn’t sure exactly where you were or  whether anyone else was based in the Norfolk area. Thanks again  :D

These were not for the swap, but were inspired by it! So I thought you might like to see. I made 2 leaves originally for the TSP swap, but then decided to make something different. However, as it is such a good use of long thin scraps and little bits of wadding,  I got carried away and made 5 sets ( mug rug plus bigger pot holder) for a local charity shop and 1 set for a friend. I love a good scrappy project   [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Here is my lovely autumnal patchwork mat, made by a mystery person in Norfolk. Thank you so much- it will now replace the Spring one on my kitchen table. :D  [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Bridal / Re: My Wedding Dress

Just gorgeous. :loveit: When is the big day @charlotte ? Bet you can’t wait to wear it and show it off to everyone.  :VV:

@William  I just washed it with a normal load of washing.  Back in the 1990s that would have been at 40 degrees C and a fast spin speed. It’s been fine. Actually I think exposure to bright light does more damage to quilts.

Today... One thread per day / Re: Today's Triple Birthday

Don’t often read this this, but a triple birthday is special. Happy birthday all ! :VV: :VV: :VV:

I’ve just received a parcel from Martham in Norfolk.  :D Thank you to the sender- I’ll keep it unopened until the equinox.

@Sandra this was one of my earliest efforts, made for my children’s cot back in the days when you were allowed quilts in cots! It is so poorly quilted - just around each block, but it’s been washed countless times in its 31 years and is still in one piece. Now just a dolly’s ‘cosy cover’ for my grandchildren to play with. Yours may well find a good use in the future!   [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]    [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

A Good Yarn / Re: Christmas mice sleigh

Oh they are adorable @CraftyIrish  !  I would have liked to learn to crochet once upon a time but my granny who was a fantastic crocheter (is that a word?)  gave up trying to teach me once she realised I was left handed .....  I can manage a chain but that's it.  Oh well.

I couldn’t crochet until a few years ago- I learned entirely from watching YouTube. I’ve had a look and they’re are several videos on YouTube for left handlers. Worth a look. :D

I have a busy week ahead, so posted mine on Tuesday, just in case I forgot. Hopefully it will soon arrive at its destination  ;)

A Good Yarn / Re: Baby blankets

Lovely @b15erk . I’ve done a few of these  corner to corner blankets. I like your solid border :that’s a different border to the one I do. Is that single crochet all the way round ?

@Bill , I’ve always sent a note saying who it is from and indeed have always known who sent to me, either because there’s a note or because the item is labelled.

Embroidery and Embellishment / Re: Hand sewing needles recommendation please
« on: September 01, 2021, 12:10:15 PM »
Just searched and found this old topic. I am so fed up with searching through my needle case to find a needle with a decent sized eye, that doesn’t jab into my fingers as I sew. I’m off now to look at John James embroidery needles. Hoping they’ll solve the problem and I can throw out most of the old ones. :D

I'm too late to join in but I would like to have a go at making a mug rug but where do I find the instructions?

You’re not too late @So Chic . You can sign up until 31 August. The more the merrier ! :D
