Fun with Fabric / Scuba?

Hi
I saw some lovely scuba fabric in Abakhan. I was wondering whether you could tell me what garments you have sewn using scuba. Can you direct me to photos? Any advice for using scuba?
I saw a Simplicity pattern Project Runway Dress 8213 which specifies that it's especially for scuba, but i'd love some other recommendations

Patterns Discussion / Searching for a dress pattern. Can anyone help?

Hi

2 to 3 months ago I saw a dress pattern I really liked. I probably noted the number but I dont remember where.
I@m fairly certain it was one of the big name pattern companies.
The style was a plain front, shift dress style & the back had a gathered panel towards the hem. I've probably not described it very well but can anyone help?
I've looked through webites with no success.

I have made my friend some cushions. There's some fabric left over & I'm trying to think of something I could make as an additional gift for her to go in the living room with the cushions.

In the wardrobe / Lining a dress

Hi. Please could I have some help with how I attach a lining to a dress I'm making?
The dress is McCalls 6429 a straight short sleeved shift dress. I have made this dress already with the help of my sewing teacher at Bury Adult Education class. But I cannot remember how it was done.
I have made up the lining & the dress but haven't attached the neckband & facing, nor have I put in the zip - the back is completely open.
With the first one I attached the lining at the ends of the sleeves then somehow turned it through & attached the back seam to the seam allowance of the zip (If I remember correctly)
I would welcome a pointer to instructions for this or to YouTube.

Hi, I'm new... / I'm from TSF

Hi, I have been lurking on this site since its early days. I too was a longstanding member of TSF.
The reason it's taken me a while to register is that I was considering changing my name but in the end I kept the same one as on TSF.
I dither about my sewing too.
I'm still dressmaking & still have problems with the fit and make many garments that don't get worn.
I attend a local authority dressmaking evening class, although there are only 3 more weeks left of the year.
