Quilt police look away now! This quick and cheerful quilt was made from leftovers after resizing two polycotton duvet covers and is just backed with fleece.

The characters were irregular sizes so it was a matter of squaring them up the best I could and laying them on the kitchen floor to work out sashing sizes. There was quite a bit of muttering and unpicking required to ensure none of the sashing lined up.

Quilting was straight lines in the sashing and free motion around the characters. I rather like the "ghost" Mr Men that this gives on the back of the quilt. The quilt was started last Sunday and delivered yesterday evening to its new owner - I wish all my quilts were this quick.

Events / NEC discount with Virgin trains
« on: July 19, 2017, 16:10:21 PM »
Virgin trains offer a 25% discount on train tickets if you are travelling to an event at the NEC. Tickets have to be booked via the link on the page below and the discount is only available for the part of the journey operated by Virgin trains so you may have to split your ticket.

I've just booked my tickets for FoQ and have made a small saving, perhaps enough for a FQ.

Last year Barbara Brackman posted a series of pieced hexagon blocks as part of a weekly sew along. I didn't manage to keep up with the schedule so I am several months late in having a completed quilt, but I have finally got there.

There are 32 blocks in total  which I pieced using the EPP technique and, with exception of three fat quarters bought for fussy cutting, all fabrics and the backing were from stash, though the size of my stash doesn't seem to have shrunk much.

If anyone fancies making some (or all) of the hexagons, the details are available on Barbara Brackman's blog:

I'm currently logged in, thanks to Google saving my password, but I can't remember my password. (I'm trying to make changes to my profile and it is asking for my password.)
Where do I find the "forgotten password" link or do I have to be logged out for that to show?
