Ditto, I won't be going to weddings this year but sometimes I am 'dressed up'.  That's the nearest I get to posh at the moment, when I am a guest and not wearing my everyday clothes. We all need something for the times we have to show we are making an effort.  (Your language was perfect)

If you are going somewhere they don't expect you to do the washing up, that's posh.  0_0

@Sandra  Yes, she is, but she has been busy this month and is just starting the March block.  Did you see Deborah's comment about the vines?  "If you like them now, just wait until  you see them in the quilt!"
Thanks @Iminei , I've sent my blocks in but haven't got the clue yet.

Apart from the variable stitch width, LED lights and needle positions it sounds pretty much identical to my elderly Pfaff 6120 which goes on and on.  It's the one machine that just feel like an extension of me, although the others work perfectly well. I love their feet too.  Mine has fewer stitches and only 3 needle positions, but they don't seem to have added any unnecessary bells and whistles. It sounds a great machine.

My Scrabble contribution was to make a bag for the letters. No way am I going to spend  hours turning them  all down on the table.

A bit of a 'do' / Re: Mother of the Groom

Simply Be have a few different things and try https://www.yoursclothing.co.uk/wide-fit-shoes, they had some EEE black diamante ballerina pumps. If you want to go barelegged, there is a foot spray  that makes you feel like you have got socks on and saves the sticking/rubbing.  I think the can was pink.  Kiwi Silk Foot Spray, but there are others apparently, but I've used this one..

@Lowena  I think you need to be high enough above the table to look down on the fabric, I wasn't.
@wrenkins  It is Riley Blake, Sharktown.  It was 2017, I don't know how long they sell them for, but I got mine at the Sewing Centre in Scarborough.

But I like you!

I said I didn't mind saving you from learning by your own mistakes.  Here are four more:
1.  Do not cut out when your head is full of cotton wool.
2.  If you are too tired to stand, do not cut out sitting down when you can't keep the blade close to the ruler.
3.  If the pieces do not fit any which way, check that you have not sewn the last piece on 90 degrees out.
4.  Do not try to take pictures with an empty battery.
Picture will follow, but the eagle eyed will then notice that my leaves do not have nice tidy points.  My excuse is that vegetation grows as it will. Also, Hawaii did not escape the freak weather we have been having and my creeping vines got knocked about a bit.
P.S. I don't care the total size is OK and it can go in.  (But will be more careful next time, Miss)

The Haberdashery / Re: Seeking Some Strange Stuff for Cuffs
« on: March 21, 2019, 12:16:47 PM »
I might be tempted to use ordinary wide elastic and a bit of bias across the inside edge of the sleeve.  Even ordinary elastic would be hard to find in blue.  Would black look terrible?
Just looked and see Abakhan have something called "waistband and cuff elastic" in several colours. It has an ungathered strip to attach to the main fabric.

Overlockers & Coverstitchers / Re: Going over seams on coverlock
« on: March 18, 2019, 17:50:49 PM »
@Ploshkin  When I remember! Everything helps. The Coverpro refuses and drags the thicker bits along, perhaps it depends on the type of jersey to an extent.   If is a thick seam I take a little vee to take thickness away from the fold.
