  Good luck @Bumblebuncher  :thumb:

I'm here this afternoon. I've got all my work stuff done and now I've started to go through my Mum's old stuff.
There are some items on my work rail which need looking at. I'm currently restitching the hem on a dress. There's a couple of items which have tiny holes which I'll either catch by hand or darn on the machine. I'm trying to make them as tidy as possible before either charity shopping them - if they're good - or dropping them in the recycle bin at the corner shop if they're not quite good enough.

I need to send a quick text to my menswear shop man to let him now what he owes me. I don't think I'm going to see him for a few weeks after today as he has a hip replacement op on Friday. I'll be doing the to-ing and fro-ing with the work until he's better. I don't mind. It's an easy journey.  :)

I've done a bit of restitching on a coat which I've brought back here from mum's. It was dropping a bit at the hem and I wanted to smarten it up before I charity shop it. That's now neatly folded up in a bag.
I've also restitched the buttons down the front of a 1970s black nylon semi-see through shirt.  :scream: Gertie loved it and if it had been a larger size, she'd have had it.

I've stopped now for a bite to eat and a cup of tea.

For Sale, Wanted & Free to a good home / Re: Free Zips

:) Thanks for thinking of me @Iminei but I'm well stocked up on closed ended zips. I must have several hundred.  :S
If I ever need to order a zip it's an open ended one.

I intended to join you this afternoon but Gertie phoned just before 2 to say she was on her way over to visit me.
I hand hemmed two pairs of trousers while she was here and machined the hems up on a pair of jeans.

:loveit: Oh, the embroidered jacket.  <3
The shape of it for starters but the work done on it is absolutely incredible.

Haven't done much but I currently don't have much which needs doing.

I've had a pair of jeans dropped off which have started to split down the centre back seam so I've tacked a piece of cotton fabric on the back to strengthen it and have found some reasonably well matched thread. Difficult to match denim.
I'm not doing them today. It can be a job for tomorrow.

One of their ranges I can't stand the name of is 'Biscuits and Gravy'  :x It makes me feel a bit queasy.

I've had a couple of long phone conversations with my son and my best friend so I'm a bit late getting here this afternoon.

I've done my menswear work  and I've sorted out the fabrics needed to make another Funny Face block.

I was torn between using this blue or a yellow but I think I just about preferred the blue.

I need to figure out a price on a  :\ MASSIVE curtain job. I've been putting it off since last Thursday but I suppose I ought to have a proper look at it now.

I've been asked to either make a massive pair of lined curtains from scratch with a pelmet....OR....join pre-made curtains to make them into a massive pair of curtains, and make a pelmet from the off-cuts.
Don't want the job but I doubt I'd put her off no matter what I charge.

I really don't want acres of curtain fabric dropped off here and I'd prefer to join ready made curtains. I really don't have the space for either job since losing my sewing room and my lovely big dining table but feel that handling the acreage of untouched fabric (and the lining) is more daunting.

It sounds like the skunk is going to stay.  0_0 I'll feel guilty for leaving him out now he's got such support.

I like the zebra.  :)
He's supposed to have a simple little smiling mouth but I don't think he needs it.

Yes @Ellabella it's a dragon.  :)

Are the monthly new ones shown on their web site @Sandra ?  It's possible you can figure out how to do the future blocks that appeal to you after all of your practice.

I think all of the blocks are eventually available to purchase on the website but I don't think I need any more. I've no idea what I'm going to do with these yet.  :S (Unless they issue one that's so utterly irresistible that I can't not buy it.  0_0 )

Yes. Looking at them all together, the bee looks worse of all probably due to the background fabric being so pale compared to the others.

I've looked out the fabrics for the zebra so I might get that done tomorrow.
