@Greybird  those several years are SEVEN now!!  :faints: and I much prefer when the sewing place life raft is empty, bobbing around by the dock ... but its done its job this weekend and thanks to the almost invisible but ever present @Mr Twingo  .. we seem, fingers crossed, to be back to some sort of normality now!

Bravo @Mr T

Nice design idea. I'd need a larger one though.
Mine is big with an open top, so I can chuck stuff in from a distance.
It's not beyond the realms of possibility to paint a plain one.  ::thinks::

Lots of useful stuff there, @Kwaaked and the decoration on the seed packets is very pretty.

@Acorn  that's exactly how it behaved more especially on the hems rather than the seams.  We'll see how it goes with the pink striped one which is cut out ready to go.

We save heirloom seeds every year and I wanted a way to store them in a pretty manner rather than in just bags or envelopes so I made seed packets to stick the envelopes into.  Used craft felt, made enough for both spring/summer crops and fall/winter ones.  Sticker label on back mark crop, wooden box from a pound store to give them a permanent home.

Feed sacks made from linen and cotton upholstery (there is a trend and I haven't even gone through a third of it yet).  Varying sizes, zero waste project.  I made them out of the entire roll I had in a way to not have any scraps.  Sewn and then serged, drawstring closure.  Made because we were given an acre and a half of feed corn and needed storage for the kernels.

More upholstery from the haul.  Large bag is a fabric basket, small bag hold the quarters.  Matching set since I've almost had one duffel bag I made stolen, and I can point to the coin bag and go, mine.  When we are at the farm, I tend to go to the launderette rather than haul it home to wash and carry it back and we keep work clothes there all the time.
