Tech Know How / Re: Certificate expiry causing error message
« on: May 11, 2023, 20:43:38 PM »
I need to obtain a new 'key' to validate the security certificate.

I am working on this as a matter of urgency (thankfully, no work tomorrow).

It WILL be resolved, but will take a few hours.

We seem to be back up and running.

Phew!

It's driving me nuts! It was working last night and this morning, but this afternoon, back to a revoked certificate error. The problem seems to be unique to Firefox; every other browser I've tried works.

I've had an online chat with TSP's host company, and they have concluded the issue can only be resolved by the company that issued the certificate (Starfield). I have contacted them, and await a response.

Don't worry, I've not forgotten you. It's just out of my hands at the moment.

Dear All,

I am aware of this issue, and have been trying to resolve it. Currently, I am having problems accessing the administration page from where I can tweak things.

The problem seems to be unique to Firefox…

Rest assured, I am working on a solution.

Sewing Machines / Re: Janome Heavy Duty
« on: April 22, 2023, 15:03:30 PM »
It looks remarkably like the heavy duty Janome I have, that came from Sewing Machines Direct. Mine has a bit of a quirky reverse – upon pressing the reverse lever, the machine often makes a 0-length stitch before reversing. It does the same when the lever is released.

I've not tried sewing leather on it, though, as I prefer to stitch by hand (saddle stitch).

You are all most welcome.

There are several apps that will do this for you. Microsoft Translator has good reviews, and will translate text in a photo. There's also Google Lens. Both apps are available for Android and iOS.

I have changed the password on @Missie 's account, so when she next tries to log in she will be forced to change it. Other details have also been corrected.

--------------

It is imperative that you don't reuse passwords across different sites, and to choose ones that are laced with capital letters, numbers, and 'special' characters. One useful method that allows you to create easily memorised but hard-to-crack passwords is to think of three words, join them together, and change letters for numbers.

Example:
I might choose cook, envelope, joke as the words. Joined together we have cookenvelopejoke. Changing some of the letters for numbers produces c00k3nv310p3j0k3. Adding a capital letter in the middle and a couple of special characters results in #c00k3nv3l0P3j0k3@

You can check to see if your data has been compromised by visiting https://haveibeenpwned.com/ and entering your email address.

@Mr Twingo - trying to post a picture on the "Show us yer baubles" thread. Keeps coming up with an Error 500 message. Have managed it on another thread but this one's not having it.

I'll take a look. 50x errors usually mean something's not right on the server side of things, most likely permissions...

If it were the site, I would have expected everybody here with Malwarebytes installed to receive the same warning. So I suspect something else is at play.

The code for TSP is all PHP. We are using a previous version of PHP, though.

What happens if you try accessing the site in incognito/private mode?

I learned to crochet from Mikey Small. Very camp, but engaging.
