It is imperative that you don't reuse passwords across different sites, and to choose ones that are laced with capital letters, numbers, and 'special' characters. One useful method that allows you to create easily memorised but hard-to-crack passwords is to think of three words, join them together, and change letters for numbers.
Example:
I might choose
cook, envelope, joke as the words. Joined together we have
cookenvelopejoke. Changing some of the letters for numbers produces
c00k3nv310p3j0k3. Adding a capital letter in the middle and a couple of special characters results in
