Hi - I'm Jane from North Staffordshire. I was put off all forms of needlework by my Domestic Science teacher at school and for many years I refused to have anything to do with it, but now I'm a keen although not very proficient Dark Sider (think chopped-off points, corners that don't meet and crooked seams). I also do some basic sewing, mainly girls' dresses, for our charity knitting and sewing group, and I collect American Girl dolls so I want to sew some outfits for them. If the impression I'm giving is of someone who likes sewing but is basically pretty useless although hoping to improve - that's me

I'm sorry to make my very first post a request for help, but I'm hoping someone can come up with some guidance!
My friend Jennie died suddenly earlier this year, and I'm helping her husband go through her craft things. She was the lucky owner of a Bernina Aurora 440 QE sewing machine which he thinks she bought around 5 years ago, and he's asked me for advice about selling it. I have no idea what it's worth, so I'm wondering if someone on the forum can help with valuing it. I realise that's difficult when you haven't seen it, but if you can give a ballpark figure for a 5 year old machine in good condition, complete with all its feet and box, that would at least give us a starting point. Thank you!
