Yeah, I just thought it was very odd, and she is a very strange person seeing lead in everything that is around the home and in everyday use
 Lead paint was a dangerous thing, and lots of warnings about it during renovations etc, and lead pipes as you say too, but honestly. Lead in pencils was banned in the '70s I think - if there ever was lead in pencils to begin with.

Sorry to hijack @Lachica, but I came across this yesterday and wondered if anyone has seen it along with me?

I understand that these vintage machines are japanned and shellac applied; this lady seems to think that they are oozing with lead. Some of the replies challenge her view, and she does not like it.
