DD and I did a workshop last Saturday and made scarves.

They are wool felted onto silk organza with scraps of sari silk as embellishments.

I really enjoyed doing it but the felting was a very good work out for the bingo wings.

I wore the scarf yesterday and it’s wonderfully light but very warm..

@Ouryve Quite agree about the quality!  Same happened with Joules - I'd been wearing their stuff since the year dot, when they only sold the clothes at horse shows, and their deck shirts went on for ever.  The fabric quality got worse and worse, and I seem to think the company was about to go to the dogs a short while ago.  However, I have noticed that they now seem to have gone back to their roots, and are producing a better quality range now - I bought a sweatshirt and sailor top and the fabric was really good!

Also same about Seasalt sizing - I quite like their tunic tops, however, after years of manual labour with horses, I have got quite muscly biceps and forearms, and the sleeves do not fit - practically turning into a tourniquet!

I only did it @HelenM as the alternative was helping DH cut up some wood to replace the rotten boards around the veg patch!

@Silver Rose I did a lettuce hem, which was a bit of a cop-out but worked very nicely!

That's cheerful, @Tamnymore. I'm using one of those bags that shower curtains come in (made of the curtain fabric). It's getting rather grotty and I don't have shower curtains any more so can't replace it with the next one.

Tamnymore's entry No.1

A peg bag. After years of using a tatty old cloth bag I finally made a traditional clothes peg bag. The basis is a child's padded coat hanger (usefully supplied from a charity shop), a length of patterned canvas style fabric from Immanuel's and a length of red bias binding. I drew round the top of the clothes hanger, adding a bit for seams, then drafted what seemed like a reasonable sized bag. I drew the oval opening with a French curve thing. Such is the beauty of bias binding that it was easy to fit the binding round the opening. If I made one of these again I'd probably make the opening a bit smaller but it does the job!  [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Looks great @Ellabella
I think one of my bags has bound seams.  But it wouldn’t have been possible to do it any other way really.  I used self fabric.

I am that long body, short legs person. Unfortunately, the standard length would probably give me a wedgie, never mind the petite. All my favourite
Seasalt things are old, now. Even the sailor tops I still wear are my 8 year old ones. They changed the fit and the quality of the fabric for the worse.
