I'm really tempted to rebind it in some yellow or blue binding as I massivley fudged the binding of mitered corners up.

I really don't like them!

;) Thats why (I think) my mother is always doing rounded corners!!  :loveit:

@datcat23 , that looks so nice! Thanks for including a shot of the first jumper on you, it really gives a much better picture of how it looks like - which is great. LOVE those striped pocket with a different orientation.

Welcome @NatalieSews !
I don't really quilt (that's my mother's job!), but have made two quilt bedcovers, one alone and one with her. What I found really important is to watch out not to mess up with the seam allowances - you have to sew accurate, otherwise the blocks will end up being each a different size! I don't have a quilters (1/4 inch) foot, but used a regular one and aligned the fabric edge with my foot and it worked out well enough, as long as I did this with all seams. So good luck with your quilt!

Actually I think  that the replacement is a good way to let go. I don't want to let go sometimes if I fear a gap in the wardrobe (right now I am in need of new dark tshirts. But they will be worn until I get around to sewing replacements). If the new item is even more comfortable than the old AND the old is worn out, then I can let go. The 'bag it away' for a few weeks is a good idea. If you feel okay with 'only' the new skirts, you can probably do away with the old ones more easily.

Hey Dorothy,

I got this Betzina book , Fabric Savvy. For chenille, is says to tailor tack if you mark something, use an walking or teflon foot. Watch out for the nap! For pressing, cover the surface with a fluffy towel and place right side of chenille against towel. No pressing on the right side or you will flatten the nap, which will show. She uses a universal 80 needle. Hope this helps.

Hey indigotiger,
I also just joined in and am happy to see you here! Your garments are really special (and specially nice) and you should venture into knitting more often, as I think your new sweater (that beautiful one with the multiple blue hues at the yoke) is wonderful!

Hi everyone,
I am a fellow sewist from northern Germany. I started sewing 15 years ago with dresses for my niece, learned how to draft garments (the Mueller&son system) right at the beginning and am sewing for myself and my daughter mainly. I did spot some familiar names here on the forum! Looking forward to sharing knowledge as well as finished garments, inspirations and ideas with others. Sew long!
