thank you everyone.

Sounds like a great idea.  I am currently in the process of sorting out a 'sewing room'  which will give me some room to work.  Once that is done then I should be ready for bigger projects.  A few months away yet.

Joined last year, but now have more time as following redundancy I am now 'retired'.  I make bags/accessories etc at the moment, but plan to have a go at dressmaking, never had a lot of success with patterns, never seem to fit me.  but plan to crack it now I have more time.

that is really good.  I made my husband a mini drawstring bag for his backgammon pieces, but never thought about making an entire board.

Hello - I am new here :)

I made myself an normal needlecase with felt 'pages'.  But before fully constructed I added a 'strap' one end in the seam and the other end I added a snap fastener and in the loop I feed my embroidery scissors through it.

I then added a pocket to the inside one side closed by a snap fastener again.  The pocket is big enough to take a couple of bobbins, and these are how I carry cottons around, rather than a big spool.  Made it years ago, out of cheap fabric as a test, with the intention of doing it in nice fabric.

I also close it with a snap too.  just use the Kam type fasteners.  But have done hair ties and buttons also.

My first post today!

I am always looking at Youtube videos and have put some of the bag making ones into a library which may help. If you look through the posters, some of them have lots more videos.
