That's great @Tiggy. Just had a look online for this book, it costs £30, and has 7 patterns.  So how do they justify charging £25 each for the patterns?  :o  Not asking you to answer the question or owt, just my observation  :S

Oooo bloody hell @Ellabella I can't unsee this post  :o

Courtney Top, made using 1 metre of cotton viscose mix from Fabrics Galore aaaaaaaages ago honest   It's very dark blue not black, and I had nothing else to go with it for contrast panels.

It's a lovely simple make and I reckon it could be a fave due to the easy slip-on style. This seems to suit me more than button up shirts and the like.

I'm planning another with an almost metre - a remnant - of the same fabric in a different colourway but going to put contrast panels in when I come across something that will work.

I watched this last night, quite interesting. I love the fact that they're human-stitched rather than robots. The waterproofing process is fascinating.

@jen I'm loving the detailed description of the construction, but please tell me you put pockets on them somewhere. A floaty dress isn't complete without pockets  ;)

@Efemera the second pic looks as though the fabric has a discolouration in it... bit difficult to see, or is it just how the stripes are?

G'morning OH is WFH today, not that it will affect me. I've cleaned the bathroom, put some washing in, sorted out one kitchen cupboard and am just about to hoover through the downstairs rooms.

Hoping to see mum this afternoon, she's been out the past couple of times I've called round.

Finished my UFO trousers y/day  0_0 a very fetching pink linen mix chambray-ish, nice and summery  :)

Have a good day all

@b15erk Oh Jessie you've just brought something to my attention that I had no idea about. Home Bargains is my favourite shop anyway, but... you're telling me they sell buttons?!  :o This can double as a Happy Thread post too  :loveit:

Fun with Fabric / Re: Fabric for M7714 Dress

Personally I'm a big fan of contrast and colour or print clashing but I like one colour also.  Certain garments can carry off a contrast better than others. Do whatever you want with it, wear it with pride and sod what anybody thinks  :P

I've done a similar thing myself with a simple round necked top pattern; my version included placing the front and back pattern pieces on the fabric fold, pinning at the neckline and pulling away from the fold until I had it where I wanted it. Does that make sense?

Of course this makes it bigger everywhere, ok for me, but if you don't want to increase the chest/bust area then a slashing exercise would be better  ;)

Bought some buttons on fleabay from Mrs Arthur's Button Shop. Looked at the website direct and they're really cheap and very colourful. Only thing I will say is that they're very lightweight so might not appeal to everybody.

Good afternoon been supermarket shopping this morning, pegged out washing then re-pegged it out in the doghouse when we had a rain shower  -<

:woof: Poppy is going to see the vet this aft, need to discuss our options for her piddling problem. Hope that goes well.

Staying out of the sewing hut today, I've overdone things the past few weeks and feel a bit burnt-out, need a break  :)

Have a good day all
