Thought I’d have a change from pink this evening, so I had a go at this block. I had difficulty finding enough of suitable colours : I think more contrast between the light and medium would have been better, but I enjoyed trying a new type of block. Think it’s the first time I’ve ever used the angles on my ruler.  :P The borders are not exactly equal, but it measures 12.5” and it’ll do!

I did my BBblock today and was really pleased with how it went together. It was only after I put the edge pieces on that I realised it's rectangular and not square

But... but... but.. I'm not Wrenkins, I bet hers was perfick  :loveit:

If it's rectangular, putting 1.25 inch strips all round makes it still rectangular  :[  I guess I'll have to take off the top and bottom ones and cut some wider.

Sorry Darling Flobear, I must be losing my marbles xxx

Dear @Flobear @everyoneelsemaking the block

So sorry the destructions were unclear ... Ive measured my borders and one is 1/4" and ones a smidge bigger
Anyhow Ive amended the destructions for the border of this block

My unfinished tumbling blocks measured about 10 1/2" x 11" so I added borders of about 1 1/2" each side and trimmed to 12 1/2"....

Thanks @Iminei , I thought I'd done it wrong when it wasn't square. Anyway, it's now exackerly 12.5 of yer-actual Imperial inches. And it's square.
@wrenkins  bet it is

Anyway, yer 'tis. My equal favourite fabric appears - the dotty reeds - but they are little bu****s because they end up sideways if you're not paying attention! Even on the second cut they weren't correct for the intended position so I just swapped them over with the red.

Now I understand why mine Brucie block is too small. I s'pose I'll have to investigate the borders again (sigh

Nice to have a block that can be cut down to exackerly the right size without hurting any points.   ;)  And really nice to have everyone else sorting out the details while I'm on holiday and not doing any blocks.   :thumbsup:
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Thou shalt not covet...however @Flobear I loved your dotty reeds so much that I bought myself an enormous quantity of the black version to use as a border for something. I've a nasty suspicion that it's going to end up in the 'too lovely to cut' pile!  :S
