@TartanPaint I think a garment may be what is asked for, wait to see what @Manuela says. :)
"
1. You shall make a minimum of one garment - it can be anything, top, dress, skirt, jumpsuit, trousers....
2. If you want to make more than one entry, feel free to do so, but submit them in separate posts
3. Please clearly indicate what pattern you used and what, if any, changes you made
4. You don't need to use a commercial pattern, self drafted is fine
5. Sewing starts on September 1st , you can prepare & fit the pattern and cut before that date
6. Sewing finishes on on September 30th , please post pictures by October 7th
7. You need to use plaids, tartans, checks or gingham as the main fabric of your garment
8. Your entry here can also be included in your 6-PAC"

The prerequisite for all our competitions is sewing @TartanPaint  :)
The rules this year specify a garment but I think I remember a discussion before about upholstering... :thinking:

Found it in the House Beautiful comp.

3. The items entered must include a significant sewn component. Remember this is a sewing competition, not a craft contest. (Eg: a sewn slipcover would qualify, but reupholstering a chair using only a staple gun would not qualify.)

@wrenkins @Lilian

I was thinking more along the lines of the whole chair as well as making a new seat cover. Oh well. Just an idea. Have fun with it.

@TartanPaint How about some PJ trousers or even sleeping shorts, they wouldn't be too difficult?

@Lilian, I stepped down/back/aside/whatsoever from being a moderator on August 9th, hence I don’t manage the contests anymore. While I set the rules for this one when I set it up, the new contest manager or site admin might have a different opinion. So, it’s best not to approach me on this  :)

If I could I'd love to make a robe like Patrick McGoohan had in the Prisoner. Or even that iconic jacket he wore.

Sorry @Manuela I didn't realise I thought it was temporary.

I cut out a check skirt today. It is part of my 6PAC, and is fairly hefty wool so should see me through the winter.

I'm making view B, the shorter length and no frill at the waist.

Ooh, I like the pattern and think it would make a great winter skirt.  Look forward to seeing how it turns out.

We'll be calling you Number six then from now on.  :laughing:

@TartanPaint, just had a look at that dressing gown and it looks really easy even if it is too big for him and it would probably look a lot nicer in tartan fabric. If you feel inspired have a go and talk to us if you get stuck

Mine too.

I saw it when I was really young and the whole collectivism vs. individualism really resonated with me. I love seeing people spot that badge on my jacket, make eye contact and then the telling nod and smile as they pass.

Who is Number One?

You are, Number Six

@Surest1tch

You think it's too big for him? Honestly?

What do you think it's made from?

And thanks for the offer of help.
