Blouse - Burda 12/19 114

I've finished my weird fabric blouse but still need to wash away the stabilizer I applied before sewing the hems in my coverstitch machine. These were about the best behaved seams in the whole garment.
The pattern suits the groovy print of the fabric nicely and I'm happy with how it turned out. I have a couple of metres of lovely printed silk that I bought a few years ago and which has been waiting for the right pattern and I think this is it. It certainly won't be any trickier to sew silk than this odd stuff.
I really like the shoulder details, both the button and placket as well as the soft tie in the other side. I'm not the sort to ever wear a pussycat bow blouse, but this is just enough.

That's a lovely blouse.  I like that you managed to get the buttons in solid grey.

Lovely but a bit peeved, last time I used those little button loops they looked awful and I took them out and used buttonholes.  Yours look perfect.  I bet you've covered those buttons as well.

Why, thank you, all! After the messing around with the fabric, I was glad that it turned out nicely. And, yes, I did cover the buttons! They were tricky too, as when I covered the first one, the fabric stretched a bit and you could see the shine of the metal underneath. I couldn't live with it, so each of those little devils is actually a lined covered button! I cut out a teensy weensy bit of the grey part of the fabric to line each one with. Fiddly, undoubtedly. Worth the hassle? Most definitely! Look at how all of you eagle eyed sewists spotted it! 0_0

Definitely worth taking some time @dolcevita.  I’ve been known to use fusible interfacing on the back before when I’ve had problems covering buttons.
