My mum asked me to get this pattern for her from Ravelry and when I saw it, I thought I’d have a go. It is a good way to use up oddments of wool. I think I’ve got enough for 50 cowls.
Plenty of ends to sew in.

That's very different from what I've seen before.
I've not felt the urge to crochet anything for years though and I had enough of darning in my Fair Isle ends yesterday.

Ooo, that looks pretty! Can we see a pic of your pattern please? I'm also looking for projects which will use up my large stash of yarn. Lots of it, but not great quantities of the same type or colour.

I've a feeling that it's actually knitted... :thinking:

That's a most unusual pattern, I thought it was knitted.
@b15erk
look up
mitred square knitting
The squares aren't sewn together, the stitches are picked up along the side of a square to knit the next one. It's on my list of things to do one day.

Yes, it’s knitted. I’m like you,
@annieeg
. I tried many times over the years but now have resigned myself to the fact that I’m never going to be able to crochet.

You've made my day!!
I can knit and checked out the pattern (which I think I might manage, provided I concentrate :thinking:) so I bought it!!
Its really lovely, and will be interesting to try and learn the techniques.
I, also, have a lot of wool bits and pieces and this could put them to use.
Thanks

@Pearl
! I've bookmarked it, and hopefully it will be one to reduce my stash. New knitting technique (to me) too - is it a Brioche stitch?

No, not brioche stitch. Much easier.

I am very tempted to try this, too (although I MUST finish my jumper first...) I tend to get bored with large areas of knitting, so this ought to be ideal. :thumbsup:

I found myself sitting chatting (mother!) t'other day and wishing I had some knitting on. I haven't knit for ages and I'd love to start something...
It makes me feel as if I'm very busy even when I'm being a lazy lump!

That is such a beautiful cowl. Unfortunately it is beyond my capabilities and concentration level.
