I wonder whether Christmas Red is called something else for the rest of the year...

The one that purports to be Cherry Red is too orangey - it certainly didn't look like that on my screen when I ordered it but I realise that screens all differ even if I do have a Mac with a Retina screen (whatever that is!)

Anyway, I now have an orangey-red blender in my stash  ;)

Dunnit!  This is the best I can do picture-wise because I won't have another pair of arms in the daylight until the weekend.

Front:

And back (just a section, so you can see some detail)... I basically shadow quilted the main shapes and FMQ-ed the background.

I really enjoyed quilting the blocks without a great heavy quilt getting in the way.  I wasn't so keen on joining them together, but I am very pleased with the result, so the jury's out on whether I will QAYG again...     ...it's been a great project, and I have learned a lot - many, many thanks!

@Iminei I would love a label!  I meant to sew one in but realised after I'd finished that I hadn't.

Is it bound already?

I bound mine before I added the label ...
All I had to do was unpick a stretch of stitching, insert the label and resew ... simples!

There are two types of label available ... Levis label which is inserted into the binding and has words on both sides or an applique label which is flat that you applique onto the back ... your choice.

Pm me and we'll continue the conversation @Acorn @Sandra @supergran

Levi for me please - yes it is bound, but as you say, no problem to unpick a bit.

I decided to pinch the hanger idea and hang up my BOM quilt while it's waiting to be bound.

And I took a pic. of the two reds. The one on the right is supposedly Cherry Red and on the left is Christmas Red. Don't know how well they'll show up on other screens but you may be able to see that Cherry is definitely more orangey.

I have actually found a kindle screen to be pretty good for colour matching but it does depend on the photography of course.  That fabric on the right looks very orangey on my  screen.
Life's too short for ironing.

Lovely!  It's so strange seeing a quilt with the same blocks and very similar colours as mine!!

And the cherry red is definitely more orange - which seems very weird.  Shouldn't it be more pink?   :[

I agree about seeing the same blocks in similar colours, I thought that every time we posted in the gallery @Acorn
And the only cherries I've seen looking that orangey were unripe!
