Hello!

Hi,

I retired just before Christmas and thought I’d better find something to do that didn’t involve sitting on the sofa, watching daytime TV and scoffing packets of chocolate digestives!

Way back in the midsts of time I used to make my own clothes so I thought it might be quite interesting to take up dressmaking again. I’m hoping sewing’s like riding a bike but we’ll see as I’m sure I’ve forgotten loads!

I would also love to learn how to quilt.

I’m looking forward to exploring the forum and finding out what everyone else is making.

Welcome, @Lemon Syllabub .   :drink:

Sitting on the sofa, watching daytime TV and scoffing packets of chocolate digestives sounds good to me but patchwork and quilting is even better.

Make yourself at home on the forum.  I look forward to seeing your makes.

Welcome @Lemon Syllabub, I came back to making my clothes when I retired, more time to enjoy it and learn new techniques.
There is a vast range of talent here as I am sure you will soon find out.
Still learning

Welcome from another returnee on retirement.  You wont have forgotten anything but will probably be surprised at how much has changed and what is now available that wasn't years ago.
Life's too short for ironing.

Welcome @Lemon Syllabub from a clothes maker - I can't speak for patchwork/quilting because it is a dark art where the light is poor.  Your cycling skills may be rusty, but a bicycle still has only two wheels.

Welcome to TSP.  I'm sure you’ll pick it up again in no time.  As @Ploshkin says there are new types of machines, new habby and notions that weren’t available years ago.  Not all necessary but some make life much easier or make your work look more professional.
