So here are my choices....a 3/4" red border separating the body of the quilt from the HSTs or a white one, keeping in mind that whichever I choose will also be my binding.

Red (yes, I know you've decided). You have checked that ¾ inch finished
will fit nicely
with the sawtooth HSTs and get round the corners,
before you cut it
