Pattern suggestin for Silk/Linen

Good morning folks, I am looking for a pattern suggestion for a tricky fabric.

Recently I purchased some vintage silk/linen fabric.  Now I am not precious about my fabrics, vintage or not, they get used.  I don't believe in "saving" fabric just because its old.

Now when I ordered this fabric, I had the expectation of it being a soft, drapey fabric, suited perhaps for a lagenlook like dress/tunic.  When I received it, it had quite a papery feel, very stiff.  No matter I thought, it just needs a wash to get rid of any sizing.  So wash it I did, although in respect to the silk, I did not tumble dry.  While softer, it still has a very firm, stiff feel to it.

So, what do I make with it?  Do I persist with a lagenlook style dress?  or interline it (its quite see through) and make a fit'n'flare dress?  Or a button down shirt?  For reference I have 3 metres x 110cm wide.  Would love some suggestions.

Dress. Lined though. It looks lovely & will feel good on. I used silk/linen for a dress & jacket, it's slubby but quite a loose weave, very different to yours.

I’d make a dress and line it.

Everything is either requiring drape, stretch or body, at the moment, isn't it.

It would work as a layer, maybe not for winter an avoiding any gathers or any flare that would make it a bit lampshadey.

This oversized shirt/dress keeps catching my eye.

I'd probably do an unlined layering piece. I love the sheer ones TG does in silk organza. It would be lovely to have be a layer without much weight.
Hey Bill! Read the manual!  Hehehe.

What about a kimono style jacket? Great for those summer evenings when it gets a bit cool.

I think I'd make it as an overshirt, to wear over a tunic and leggings.

Same as what I was thinking, just possibly styled differently.  ;) No lining needed which in my book is a big plus.

I love all the suggestions for this beautiful fabric @datcat23  :loveit:

I think though, on a practical level, a shirt would br most useful.  Just imagine a beautiful floaty summer dress though... :meditate:

I'd probably try something like the Sewing Workshop Liberty blouse. here. I've made a couple of these and they turn out great. It has mitred corners so would work well with a slightly stiffer fabric. It takes 2.5m of 115 wide fabric - you would get away with the slightly narrower fabric.

The Liberty would work for that.

If I'd bought it for myself I'd be looking at an over-shirt.
