Pantone Colour of the Year 2023


Sew, knit, crochet or craft an item based on the Pantone Colour of the Year 2023 - Viva Magenta.
The colour can be interpreted broadly in the pink, burgundy, purple colour family, and can be a colour within a print, or just used as a small accent e.g. topstitching.

1 March - 30 April 2023

Timeframe:
Construction starts on 1st March and the items must be completed by 30th April.

All entries need to be uploaded with the template below and at least one photo by 30th April 2023

For inspiration here is a wall hanging sent to me by the lovely @Iminei .  My memory says it was a Secret Santa exchange but the date on the photo is September 2018.   :thinking:  It is still right in front of my desk.

bought a new fleece yesterday, they call the colour Beetroot, but it does seem to be quite good friends with the Viva Magenta

Same with this Fuchsia wool I pulled out of my resource centre, yesterday. I have a whole box that fits the bill, in fact!

I have been in the garage today and once I'd sorted the boring things I went in the fabric boxes.
I have found some pink fabrics which I shall interpret as Viva Magenta.
far left, chiffon in 3 shades of pink + white. 1.4 metres of 150 wide. Could make a nice blouse.
second left, crinkle poly mix jersey. 2 metres of 150cm wide. Another poloneck (turtleneck) top as we still have a goodly chunky of winter left
second right, leftovers pink jersey
far right, leftovers of print jersey
hoping I could combine these two into a whole garment of some sort.

I LOVE this color, with my preference being for the pinkish raspberry tone. I just wish this contest had been announced BEFORE I did all the sewing to decorate my new sewing room. Now I need to come up with another project, and I can't get more of the fabric I used. (I've tried-cost prohibitive).
