I have had
this
on my to make list for a while but at £14 for a pdf keep putting it to one side. I am sure i could adapt an existing pattern. I don't have any trouble with adapting for the sleeves and waist gathers but what to do for the neck line.
I am thinking cut and spread the neckline at one side of the pattern and then do the elastic casing to bring it back to shape.
Would this work? Any thought anyone?

Yes I think what you suggest would work fine
@sewmuchmore
. Have you some suitable fabric to make a wearable toile? I know what you mean about the cost of pdf patterns. I know people have to make a living but some pdf paterms are surprisingly expensive. You'd pay the same for a paper pattern.

Yes, any darting in the bodice of whatever pattern you’re using can be transferred to the neckline. Any extra gathering needed can be done as you say by slashing and spreading. Definitely needs a toile to check it. Nice design!
