I put this little bit together the last Falstaff. But what should I do with it? Thinking maybe a table topper, but...
...it was a Hobbit hole, and that meant comfort.

Yes you could add heat proof wadding and make it into a table centre mat….or make several more for a lap quilt. :D

To be honest, @Sheilago  I have thought about just this - the square is about 14 inches on side - only 23 more to go for a quilt!?
But the again, it would be a nice, if not a little small table topper...

Put a backing on it, put a pad inside  and make a stunning cushion cover. 
You could then make a ser using same design but different colours.
Easy to transport while you are being theatrical  :D

@Lowena it's a usually square "quilt" used as a table decoration. Often thin, with a flannel filler, it can be decorative or with more filler used as a big hot pad.
