Please does anyone know of a simple jacket pattern in which the sleeves are cut out in one piece with the front and back? Like Simplicity 7893, but costing less than £47

Simplicity 1318
New Look 6546
Be aware though that if you are planning to quilt the jacket the lack of sleeve seam will make it very bulky under the arm.

What about this:

No kimono sleeves but conducive to piecing. One example:

Kennis Wong (of Itch to Stitch Patterns) has a book called Sew Beautiful, this has multiple simple patterns including a simple jacket with grown on sleeves

Thanks, all. I’ll have a look through your suggestions.
@jintie
, my DD is at Uni in Bristol, so I’ll pop round with a piece of tracing paper and pencil next time I’m down that way.
