Baby Lock Enlighten overlocker

My new toy has arrived, and it's lovely.

It has air threading for both loopers and (mechanical) threaders for both needles, although that is a bit fiddly but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

It stitches nicely, and also does a fancy "wave" stitch.  I'll put some pics up of that tomorrow.  My only little gripe is it doesn't have a little bin to catch the seam offcuts.  They do make one, but it sticks out over the edge of your table with a hole in with a bag attached, I reckon my big fat stomach would interfere with that!

I couldn't be doing without a decent bib scrap bin for mine. The amount of mess - not just clean offcuts but dust and bits of threads - is unreal.

@Bodgeitandscarper - congratulations on your new baby. I have one of these for the waste. Mine is in two pieces - a mat to stand the machine on and a separate bag, lined with plastic and fixed on with a strip of velcro. Works really well - you can empty the bag without having to lift the machine. Mine was a gift from my daughter but would be very easy to make.

Congratulations I made a scrap bag that fits under the front of the machine and hangs down, now I am used to it I prefer it.

I hope you love your new machine

I tried the "wave" stitch again - with the machine set up properly this time (always pays to read the instructions properly!).
I do love the nice card "cheat sheet" of how to thread for different stitches.

I've also found a bit catcher bin thing, 3D printed by someone - in Canada.  They do ship here, but that makes it around £35  :o  I may treat myself...

Oooh, ooh, oooh!!  I've just discovered that you can feed tape through special slots in the presser foot for when you want to stabilise shoulder seams - I may be more excited than you'd expect at that
It always pays to read the manual!

@Bodgeitandscarper . I don't know if you ever got one but in my quest to find a new overlocker I've found you can get a 3d printed scrap thread catcher for Babylock off Etsy for about £20.

@realale thank you, yes I've got one - there was also about £16 postage to add to it, it came from America!  But well worth it.
