They are needle books.  Used with a die machine.

This is my side hustle of my side hustle. I like making them and sell them at gift shops. These were gifts, though.

I made myself a special shirt to wear for Christmas events. It's made from 8 different Christmas themed fabrics, 2 which I bought this year but the others all came from Auntie Joy's stash.

The buttons alternate between red and green to reflect the mixed nature of the shirt. The shirt buttons all the way up, but I'll probably always wear it with the top two buttons undone.
I was careful when cutting out to flip the pattern pieces over to get a left and right for the fronts and sleeves.
One cute scrap was perfect for the cuffs, and I echoed the heart detail with heart buttons.

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas, you can now share photos of your secret Christmas presents.

Is anyone sewing anything special for a New Year's Eve Party? We're going to friends but I think it'll be casual.

I was, but having a new foal killed all our plans lol.

I doubt silk, mud and horses mix.

Tamnymore Entry No: 1
Felt Mouse Nativity Scene

The inspiration for this was an expensive neeedfelted mouse nativity I spied in a National Trust shop. I found a pattern and instructions for a sewn and embroidered version from Tuppenny Mice on Etsy so I thought I'd make a set for my two year old twin grandsons.

Almost all the materials came from Abakhan in Manchester. I found that viscose/wool felt works fine and I've used natural wool stuffing. The angel wings and star I got from another online retailer (just can't remember who for the moment). I could have made wings and star myself but time was running short by then. They are called Tuppenny mice as you use a two pence piece to weight the bottom of the mouse. No particular problems with construction - just start a bit earlier than I did! The instructions in the pattern are excellent.

The first photo shows the shepherds in brown - one has a lamb, The second photo is Mary, Joseph and a wise mouse. Yes I've played fast and loose with the Christmas story and Mary has twin babies! The next picture shows the three wise mice. The final photo shows the full set under the tv. So far they have survived the attentions of my grandsons.

They are gorgeous!  The feeling of movement, especially in the shepherds, is remarkable!!   0_0
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Thanks for your kind comments folks. They sort of have cuteness built in if you just follow the instructions!
