Yve's entry:

Itch to Stitch Sibiu top in a smooshy brushed cotton interlock. This is a remnant I had bought with a cardi in mind but I didn't really have enough for the pattern I had in mind. It was the first thing I thought of when I saw this pattern, though.

It was a very quick make - it probably took me as long to prepare the pattern as it took to assemble, as I had to shorten everything, including the cowl. Folding the cuffs and cowl proved fiddly as this fabric does not slide over itself. Progress was hampered briefly by a spool cap shooting out of my hand and landing inside my machine. Choice words were said, at that point.
Janome M50QDC - "Jane" - Small, cute and hard working. Pfaff Quilt Ambition 630 - "Pfanny" - Pfickle. Bernina L450 - "Bernie" - Very hungry. Bernina 830 Record - "Becky"

Thought I would get my coat finished but that’s not going to happen.  Not going to rush and ruin it.
Later I’ll put up my cardigans instead.

Taken off the paper pattern. Threaded up the pink.  Sewn 2 small darts, staystitched the neck and prepared the pockets and belt carriers. Also have a belt. That's a heavy day for me at the moment. But it is progress.

Ohsewsimple’s entry number 1

Cardigan from self drafted pattern.  I took another self drafted cardigan pattern with a V neck.  I lowered the armhole slightly and did a drop shoulder alteration about 1.5cm.  The original pattern was hemmed at the sleeves.  This one has cuffs added. The front band is also wider than the original. And they are cut across the fabric rather than down.
Because of my rounded back and short neck I find straight bands can be a problem.  So this one I joined at the back on an angle and it’s worked well.
The fabric is a sparkly chunky sweater knit with viscose from Dalston Mills.  It’s very cosy and comfy.

Same pattern , different fabric.  I think the cuffs ended up slightly smaller than the grey one.  I sewed them on , didn’t like them, cut them off, made them smaller as they were too loose  and resewed them.
This fabric is from Lamazi and is their Snug viscose sweater knit. Again very cosy although I’m not sure how well this is going to wear.  It’s already showing some signs of pilling.  :(

Both cardigans sewn on overlocker and coverstitch machines.

Such a shame the fabric isn't very hard wearing, @Ohsewsimple. That's the reason I stopped knitting with superwash merino. Lovely and soft but was always badly pilled before I'd even cast off.

Closet Core Mile End Sweatshirt in a blue French Terry. This is a new to me pattern so I figured that this fabric which has a bit of a dye fault was perfect for a test run. Even sized down, it's very roomy but has plenty of details that elevate it from a boring rectangle, making it quite enjoyable to put together

Socks for OH
(after testing positive for 'you-know-what' on January 2nd  I have not been up to much sewing.  I did knit though.  Socks for OH, his bought ones seem to shrink however careful I am and they are leaving marks on his legs.)
He finds these very comfortable, but too thick for his best shoes.  Still he wears them every day now.
The light blue and grey is Drops Fabel, the deeper blue from Schjeepes, lovely to knit with.  I am trying out Fyberspates Coop for the next pair - for me, because one skein is not enough for the larger sizes.  Beautiful wool though.

Such a shame isn’t it @Ouryve ?
Some years ago I bought some beautiful yarn to knit a cardigan.  But despite several attempts with this stuff it always looked naff and bitty even while I worked with it.  So I gave it up and put it away in a sulk.  During the pandemic I got this yarn out, undid what I had knitted, wound it, wet and dried it so it was kink free and crocheted up a cardigan with it.  Turned out lovely!   Go figure.
