I'm beavering away at my blocks, here's a sample  [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]  . I now have 22 out of 36  :faints: I'm hoping to find enough dark fabrics to make sashing and odd coloured bits for cornerstones.
I'm off to look to see if I have enough light blues for a couple of blocks........ :sew:

@Lowena  ... Where have you got these fabrics from??? I thought you didnt have stash ????

I don't have a stash per se. I buy for the next, specific project and try not to over estimate the amount needed.
But
Sometimes I am given pressies of fqs and sometimes I have fabric left over from a project.
I only keep pieces bigger than a fat eighth
the smaller bits go for shoddy or are used in rag rugs.
This quilt is made from gifted fqs and leftover fes.
Now I've explained myself @Iminei  may I ask how your offering for this sewalong is progressing?...pics please
It's good to see some activity on The Darkside, let's get as many participants as we can  :thumb:

My first scrappy top is complete . I do think the white sashing helps calm it all down a bit  Now I have to decide whether to have an outer border and find something to back it with.  It is about 38” square , so should be fine for a project Linus quilt. I do quite like it, but there’s a limit to how many quilts I can have around the house!

That's very cheerful, @Sheilago and the white pulls it together very nicely.

@Sheilago I love your layout, can I copy it?

It makes something scrappy look so much more pulled together.

There is some serious inspiration here.

I'm new to machine patchwork, although I did a lot of practising last summer. With the lighter nights coming, who knows.
I also started a hand patchwork quilt last century.  Maybe this is the year.

Thank you all.

I started some EPP about 35 years ago, @classical retro  - threw it out, last year, because the 6 hexes I'd joined together were more than a little fusty!

I'm in danger of running out of backing fabric so may have to add patches that don't match
It may be ok I shall know in a couple of days if it keeps raining .

@classical retro I started my first quilt when I was 19 - EPP, all handmade - and finished it when I was 51.  I like to call it 'Grandmother's Flower Garden with Weeds'.  I broke all the rules, because I didn't know that there was a rule book, but I love it.

I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

I occasionally creep over to the dark side but I'm full of awe and admiration for what you have all produced.  It will be impossible to choose for whom to vote.
