Ok, so I haven't posted here in a while. I've sew up a lot of things lately. But today was to procrastinate from grading papers and writing report comments for my students. LOL. Only 2 weeks til Easter Holidays!!!

Anyway, I whipped up this Mary Quaint style shift dress. I love this pattern and it's free. I did have to add some back darts to accommodate my swayback. The fabric is all leftover from other projects too. It's quite comfy. Great for work too.

Fits you very well indeed!  A good make!
I have learnt by my mistakes: Sewing machines now are Bernina 720, Bernina 1008, Bernina 801 from 1981, Brother overlocker, ancient but works well

Great dress, fits you well and the style suits you. It takes me back a long long way  :o, strange how things drift in and out of fashion isn't it.

Thanks for the comments. It is certainly interesting to see what goes around in cycles of fashion. I'm glad the shift dress is back. LOL.

The dress looks perfect on you.  I was a bit young for Mary Quant first time round.  Our dad was accountant for a fashion house in the early 60s and Mary Quant was one of their new, young designers.  Perhaps if I had been a few years older I might have had a freebie or two.
Life's too short for ironing.
