Hello everyone
I have so missed the smiles, friendliness and wealth of information from the SF. So glad to be back.
I have been sewing for the best part of my sixty odd years, having started on the lap of my Mum who made all my clothes in the fifties and early sixties - same pattern, gathered skirt onto a sleeveless bodice, tied with a big bow at the back, matching hair ribbons if you were lucky!
Now happily retired I am newly obsessed. I could spend every waking hour in my she-shed aka the sewing room which was wired, insulated and painted by my lovely hubby. My new toys are My Janome overlocker and coverstitch machine to help me with my new-found interest in stretch fabrics. A Brother innovis 1250 has taken over from my well used and much loved Frister and Rossman Cub 7 which still comes out for a little outing every so often. I am just about to dip my toe into the world of machine embroidery and who knows, I may even try quilting one day!
