I'm making McCalls M7827 as a little jacket for my grandson.
I decided to not make it easy for myself and make it from jersey, and add some wadding by quilting it to the self lining. I then realised I could actually make it reversible, one side quilted, one side plain.

So, the quilting went well, with the aid of my 505 glue. I used the overlocker for most bits, but when I came to try to sew the tiny cuffs onto tiny sleeves, I needed a bit more maneuverabilty so used the sewing machine for those - by 'eck they were fiddly.

I then decided I could bag the lining, that'd mean practically no finishing off, just whizz the sewing machine around the edges and Bob's your uncle. Now I'd never bagged a lining before, (or at least not since I was about 13 and made a lined waistcoat) so didn't realise just how fiddly joining the sleeve ends would be. It didn't help that I first joined the right sleeve to the left sleeve lining - no, I've no idea why I did that either. These sleeves also have cuffs and I'd managed to get that caught up too.
Once unpicked, I made sure I had the correct sleeve and lining, and managed to sew them together by going halfway round the edge, then removing it from the machine, re-pinning and then sewing the other half. I think it may be the most awkward thing I've ever tried to sew.
It's now sitting in my sewing room waiting for the seams to be trimmed before I turn it right side out - with all fingers and toes crossed that it's gone together ok - I'm worried that the collar/neck edge has stretched out though...
