Access All Accessories / Canvas Laundry Bag
« on: April 27, 2022, 20:46:10 PM »
Hiya, my kid is no different from any other when it comes to dirty clothes lying about  :rolleyes: The good wife showed me a plain laundry bag and I said she wouldn't use it and we weren't paying $80 for one either  :laughing: but then I got thinking  :thinking: what if one had her favourite anime character on it? So I'm hoping this will give her a little bit of motivation to use it. As always ... as cheap as possible  :thumb:

In the wardrobe / Scrub Gown - Wear Update
« on: April 19, 2022, 18:46:38 PM »
Hi folks, I'll use this as my first actual posting something I've made previously. Anyways, this scrub gown was made a while back now, not long after the first lock-down (wife works in daycare). This was used for the daily morning intake of kids, then washed & dried for the next day. So let's say it has been used/worn a fair bit which left me asking myself how it was holding up to the abuse. Here is a few pics before ;

Then here is a few after about 19 months of use;

I like what I see to be honest, can't complain at all. The fabric used was a linen cotton blend (30%linen/70%cotton) and the thread is Tex27. The seam edges were done with a Singer 401A with an overcast foot which have held up better than I thought and the rest of stitching was done on my trusty Singer 15-91. Best of all, I scored some brownie points with the good wife  :thumb:

I probably should of posted this before ordering  :laugh: Just wondering if anyone has the book and what they think of it. Or maybe, any other good books recommended about pattern work.

What lies beneath... / Nightgown for summer - Pattern Ideas?
« on: April 11, 2022, 18:42:27 PM »
Hi folks, you won't find me in here often being a guy but the good wife has asked for a nightgown for the warm summer months. All I've been told is that she would like below the knee in length (probably), short sleeves and possibly Victorian(ish) plain style (no fancy lace or minimum). She is open to different neck lines but no elastic :meditate:
Any ideas on tried & tested patterns, I'm at a loss  :embarrassed: lol

Access All Accessories / Round Bottom Bag aka The Candy Bag
« on: March 16, 2022, 16:54:30 PM »
I made this last year for the kidda, long overdue. Just a bit of unbleached muslin and an indelible pen because I'm cheap lol

After that, I decided I needed my own candy bag  :thumb:

Kid was chuffed to bits so I at least scored some brownie points with her and also a candy bar or two  :)
