Unfortunately the embroidery machine didn't fetch anywhere near as much as I had hoped but both sales have left me with just enough (£1266) to cover the cost of either the ex demo Janome Atelier 7 currently on sale at couling sewing machines or the bernette b77 on sale elsewhere for the smae price. Although there is one on amazon going for a grand.
Both machines have the same specs more or less except for stitch count where the b77 wins.
That also comes with an extension table and will be brand spanking new.
The atelier is the one I've wanted for quite a while but, no extension table. No guarantee it'll still be there when the money clears (mon-tue) and its pretty much second hand. It does have a bobbin plate that unlocks with the press of a button.

What say ye experts of TSP?

I have multiple Janome machines (though not an atelier) and absolutely love them all!

Just on first look the Bernette is a 7mm swing and the Janome 9mm

Have you seen Jaycotts demo machine sale @Bill ? Not sure if they have the one you want though.

@Bill have you tried phoning the shop with the Atelier and reserving the machine?  Worth a go.

I'll be trying that once I've decided on which machine to buy @Cazlyn  :)

@Bill I would suggest going to a shop and trying both machines out while you wait for that money to clear. You don't want to be buying the Bernette if your yearning for the Janome Atelier otherwise you'll feel disappointed and end up in the same position.

I was torn between the Brother V5 and the Janome 9450 and i'm glad i went and tried them out, for me Janome won hands down.

No can do unfortunately @Diane
The nearest shop I know of is in Blackburn 10 miles away and they don't deal in bernette  :headbang:
I'd hate to go try out a machine in a shop if I wasn't going to buy from them too. That's just cheeky.

@Bill Guess i'm just cheeky then  that's exactly what i did. The reason i did this was because the local shop's customer service wasn't up to scratch and then i bought from Frank Nutt

@Bill  I purchase where i think i'm going to get the best service and it certainly wasn't the shop i went to. I know Frank Nutt has a good solid reputation.

@Bill Are you able to get to Bambers in Eccles? They deal in both Janome and Bernette so it may be worth giving them a ring to see if they have both models for you to try.

@Bill I see Amazon have the bernina B77 for £995, if you buy it on Prime then you could try it out and if you didn't like it you can return it free of charge. If you don't have prime you can sign up to it for a free trial first

Thanks @StitchinTime
They're out of bernette b77s right now but I'll keep them in mind  :)

Youre devious @Diane
That's the one I was looking at funnily enough  :D
